Live Plant Care After Delivery
Your Plants Have Arrived
How to Care for Your Live Plants After Delivery
Thank you for welcoming these plants into your garden. Every plant we send is grown with care, and we hope they bring beauty, fragrance, and healing to your space.
Live plants are just that — living things. When they travel from our garden to yours, they experience a little stress along the way. Like people after a long journey, plants can arrive looking a little tired. This is completely normal, and most plants bounce back quickly once they’ve had a drink and a little rest.
Plants are natural products, so each one may vary slightly in size and appearance, which is part of their charm.
With a little gentle care and patience, most plants settle in quickly and begin growing happily again.

On Arrival
When your plants arrive, we recommend unpacking them as soon as possible, though you may leave them in their pots. Check the compost and give them a gentle drink of water if it feels dry, then allow the plants some time to rest and recover before repotting or planting them out.
You may notice a slightly droopy leaf or two at first. This is simply part of the journey. Within a day or two, most plants begin to stand up and regain their colour.
Most plants will perk up within 24–72 hours as they adjust to their new home.
Light & Warmth
Newly delivered plants benefit from a calm and stable environment. Place them somewhere bright but sheltered, avoiding strong direct sunlight for the first few days. It’s also best to keep them away from cold draughts, radiators, or sudden temperature changes.
This gentle start helps prevent shock and encourages steady growth.
Watering
After their journey, plants prefer light and careful watering. The compost should be kept moist but not soggy, as roots need oxygen while they recover from transit.
A gentle and consistent approach is always best.
Planting Outdoors
If your plants will be planted outside, it helps to harden them off gradually. Introduce them to outdoor conditions over several days and try to protect them from frost, strong winds, and heavy rain.
Spring and autumn weather can be unpredictable, so a little extra care helps young plants establish well.
A Little Patience Goes a Long Way
It’s natural for some plants to lose a leaf or look a little slower to respond after delivery. This is simply part of adjusting to a new environment.
With the right care and a little patience, most plants recover beautifully and soon begin thriving.
Seasonal Growth & Natural Variation
Plants are living, seasonal things, and their appearance naturally changes throughout the year. Depending on the season, plants may arrive smaller, newly growing, or recently trimmed to encourage healthy development.
This is a normal part of how plants grow and establish themselves, and with time and care they will continue to develop in your garden.
